Support for Oracle RAC ASM
Starting with this version, Oracle RAC database using Automatic Storage Management
(ASM) can be configured in Metrocluster for RAC.
Following are the restrictions that apply to configuring Oracle RAC database using
ASM in Metrocluster for RAC:
The ASM disk group must be configured with a multi-node package using SGeRAC
toolkit. This ASM disk group MNP package must be configured to have a package
dependency on the CRS MNP package to be up on the same node.
The RAC database MNP package must be configured to have a package dependency
on the ASM disk group MNP package and CRS MNP package to be up on the
same node.
For more information on configuring Oracle RAC database using ASM in Metrocluster
for RAC, see the Designing Disaster Recovery HA Clusters Using Metrocluster and
Continentalclusters, September 2010 document available at http://www.hp.com/go/
hpux-serviceguard-docs —> HP Metrocluster.
