This document details procedures for installing a redundant 2-Port Ethernet
iSCSI module in an HP StorageWorks MSA1510i.
Before you begin
CAUTION: Parts can be damaged by electrostatic discharge. Use proper
anti-static protection. See documentation shipped with your system for
additional information.
NOTE: You can hot-add redundant components to the MSA1510i.
Removing power from the device is not required.
IMPORTANT: To obtain 1000BaseT performance from the MSA1510i,
use qualified Category 5e (or better) Ethernet cables to connect the Ethernet
iSCSI module to the network switch. In addition, to prevent the signal
degradation possible with long cables, use a short cable to connect network
devices.
Installing the redundant module
1. Lift the port-colored latch (1) on the Ethernet iSCSI module blank, and then
pull the blank straight out of the chassis (2).
2. Slide the redundant Ethernet iSCSI module into the vacant bay until the
port-colored latch clicks into place.
Verifying module status
Verify that the Status LED at the top of the module is solid green.

Bevor Sie beginnen
ACHTUNG: Komponenten können durch elektrostatische Entladung

HINWEIS: Redundante Komponenten können bei laufendem Betrieb in
das MSA1510i eingesetzt werden. Sie müssen die Stromversorgung des
Geräts nicht unterbrechen.
WICHTIG: Um 1000BaseT-Performance mit dem MSA1510i zu erzielen,
verwenden Sie spezielle Ethernetkabel der Kategorie 5e (oder besser) zur
Verbindung des Ethernet iSCSI-Moduls mit dem Netzwerkswitch. Um eine durch
lange Kabel verursachte Verschlechterung des Signals zu verhindern,
verwenden Sie kurze Kabel für die Verbindung von Netzwerkgeräten.
Einsetzen des redundanten Moduls
1. Drücken Sie die dunkelrote Verriegelung (1) des Dummy-Moduls für das
Ethernet iSCSI-Modul nach oben, und ziehen Sie das Dummy-Modul
gerade aus dem Gehäuse heraus (2).
2. Schieben Sie das redundante Ethernet iSCSI-Modul in den leeren Schacht,
bis die dunkelrote Verriegelung einrastet.
Prüfen des Modulstatus
Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Status-LED oben am Modul stetig grün leuchtet.

En este documento se detallan los procedimientos para instalar un módulo
iSCSI Ethernet de 2 puertos redundante en un HP StorageWorks MSA1510i.
Antes de empezar
PRECAUCIÓN: La carga electrostática puede dañar las piezas. Utilice
protección antiestática. Consulte la documentación que se incluye con su
sistema para obtener más información.
NOTA: Puede añadir en funcionamiento los componentes redundantes al
MSA1510i. No es necesario desconectar la alimentación del dispositivo.
IMPORTANTE: Para obtener un rendimiento de 1000BaseT del
MSA1510i, utilice cables Ethernet cualificados de categoría 5e (o superior)
para conectar el módulo iSCSI Ethernet al conmutador de red. Asimismo, para
evitar la degradación de señal que puede producirse con cables largos, utilice
un cable corto para conectar los dispositivos de red.
Instalación del módulo redundante
1. Levante el pestillo de color rojo (1) del panel de protección del módulo
iSCSI Ethernet y saque dicho panel del chasis (2).
2. Inserte el módulo iSCSI Ethernet redundante en el compartimento vacío
hasta que el pestillo de color rojo encaje en su sitio.
Comprobación del estado del módulo
Compruebe que el LED de estado de la parte superior del módulo permanece
encendido en verde.
