Installing or replacing
a battery
The procedure for replacing an existing cache battery
("Replacing a battery" on page 2) is different from the
procedure for installing a battery into a server that does not
have one ("Installing a battery" on page 1).
Installing a battery
WARNING: There is a risk of explosion, fire,
or personal injury if the battery pack is not
properly handled. Refer to "Battery
replacement notice (on page 2)" before
installing or removing any item that contains
a battery pack.
1. Close all applications, and then power down the server.
2. Plug the battery cable (supplied in the battery pack kit)
into the battery pack.
3. Install the new battery pack into the server. (The
installation site depends on the server. For further
information, refer to the server-specific user guide.)
4. Plug the other end of the battery cable into the connector
on the cache module.
