Controller Board Runtime LEDs
The Smart Array 6402 Controller board has nine runtime LEDs that indicate various activities
and error conditions. Figure 1-2 illustrates their location, and Table 1-3 describes how to interpret
them.

Diagnostic/Cache Status LED. LED flickers during cache activity. LED is
constantly on indicates a cache error.

Drive Failure LED. A physical drive connected to the controller has failed.CR101Amber1
SCSI Bus Active LED. At least one of the SCSI busses on the controller is
active.

XOR Active LED. The controller is calculating parity data.CR103Green3

Heartbeat LED. This LED flashes every two seconds unless the controller
is malfunctioning.

second. When the controller is busy, the LED is constantly illuminated.
