Corrective Action: Shut down and power off the system, fix the cabling issue, and power
on the system.
• Automatic Hot-Plug Issue
The HP Smart Array Controllers do not automatically detect hot-plug of internal disks.
Corrective Action: Run the sautil command with the scan option after replacing a physical
disk.
5 Compatibility and Installation Requirements
This section describes the compatibility information and installation requirements for this release.

5.1 Required Software
• OS Platform and Version Compatibility
Before installing the Smart Array Controller software, you must install a supported HP-UX
Operating System. To determine the supported HP-UX versions for your system, see the
HP Smart Array RAID Controllers Support Matrix at:

• Locating Software for the Smart Array Controllers
The HP-UX driver and utilities for the A7143A, A9890A & A9891A are not shipped with the
controller but are available through HP's Software Depot:
http://www.hp.com/go/softwaredepot
Enter the model number of your controller (for example, A9891A) into the Search box at the
top of the page
5.2 Operating System and Version Compatibility
This release is specific for HP-UX 11i v1 (B.11.11).
5.3 Hardware Requirements
This version of RAID-01 runs on HP 9000 servers with the HP-UX 11i v1 (B.11.11) operating
system.
5.4 Other Requirements
• HP Support Tools Manager (STM) and Event Monitoring Service (EMS)
OnlineDiag version A.45.00, or later, must be used for STM and EMS support with the Smart
Array Controllers.
• HP-UX Virtual Partitions (vPars)
You must install vPars version A.02.03.00 or later to use Smart Array Controllers in a vPars
environment. To obtain this software, order HP Product Number T1335AC.
