This document provides information about the June 2009 release of the RAID-01 bundle for HP-UX 11i v3. Changes From Edition 1 • Adds two items to Section 4.2 (page 6) which describe special considerations that apply when installing or upgrading to HP-UX 11i v3 Application Release 0909 on a server with an MSA2300 Series enclosure. 1 RAID-01 Overview The RAID-01 bundle contains the ciss driver. IMPORTANT: The RAID-01 B.11.31.
2 New and Changed Features in This Release 2.1 New Features The following feature is new with this version of RAID-01: • Support for HP StorageWorks MSA2300 Series enclosures. RAID-01 version B.11.31.0906 adds support for HP StorageWorks MSA2312 and MSA2324sa enclosures. The SAS Shared storage is supported with the Direct Connect Storage for HP BladeSystem using the HP StorageWorks 3Gb SAS BL Switch and a Smart Array P700m controller. HP recommends that RAID-01 version B.11.31.
2.2 Changed Features The following feature is changed with this version of RAID-01: • The ciss driver creates a virtual bus interface to support up to 1024 devices or lun paths. Version B.11.31.0906 of the ciss driver now creates a virtual bus interface to support up to 1024 devices or lun paths.

This is normal behavior under these conditions, and is not affected by patch PHCO_36356. • Automatic hot-plug is not detected. The HP Smart Array Controllers do not automatically detect the hot-plug of internal disks.
• An HP StorageWorks 2300 series enclosure is not seen in sautil and saconfig command output. An MSA2300 storage enclosure and the configured LUNs are not seen from the outputs of sautil /dev/cissX or saconfig /dev/cissX commands. You cannot use sautil and saconfig to configure the MSA2300 storage enclosure. Corrective Action: Use the StorageWorks 2300 web-based interface or CLI to manage the enclosure and LUNs.
