HP StorageWorks DAT 320 SAS Tape Drives firmware revision VSA6 release notes (DW092-90936, January 2011)

Description
The release includes updated firmware for DAT 320 SAS tape drives. This firmware upgrade
supports both Revision A and Revision B versions of the hardware.
HP StorageWorks Library and Tape Tools (HP L&TT) must be used to download firmware to the
tape drive.

Enhancements
Previous firmware versions (VSA3 and VS98) did not support Revision B hardware. If you tried to
load earlier versions onto Revision B hardware, the drive would reject it as being invalid.
This new firmware upgrade has all the same features as previous versions plus the fixes detailed
in the next section and the new feature of supporting Revision B hardware.

Fixes
• Fixed a SAS protocol issue where the drive was not becoming ready after a SAS Abort Task
was received by the drive. This would cause the drive to return a Check Condition and appear
to hang.
• Fixed incorrect Sense Data returned for the SAS Task Management Function Logical Unit Reset.
