MSL4048 tape library desktop conversion

CAUTION! Parts can be damaged by electrostatic

discharge. Ensure you are properly grounded

when touching static sensitive components.

Choose a location

Locate the tape holding the lock at the top of the library.

Remove the tape, then remove the lock and store it as

shown.

Select a location for your tape library that has

adequate clearance for ventilation, has minimal dust

and debris exposure, has an appropriate power source,

and is near the host server. Select a flat, sturdy and

level surface. Do not place the tape library on its side

or stack items on top of the library.

Remove and store the

shipping lock

Clear a work surface to install the library cover. Unpack

the library and place it on the work surface with the top

facing up. Carefully remove the library cover from the

shipping container and place it on the work surface.

NOTE: This step is normally done when the

library is first unpacked. If this is not an initial

installation, the shipping lock may have already

been removed and stored.

4 Install the library cover Slide the library under the library cover until the front panel of the library is aligned with the cover. Tighten the four screws on the library front panel until the cover is secure.
