FCIP Tunneling The optional Fibre Channel over Internet protocol (FCIP) Tunneling Service enables Fibre Channel frames to “tunnel” through IP networks by dividing frames, encapsulating the result in IP packets on entering the tunnel, and then reconstructing them as they leave the tunnel. Fabric OS supports eight FCIP interswitch links between two SilkWorm switches (SilkWorm 7500 or SilkWorm 48000 with a FR4-18i blade) or routes.

Chapter Using Fabric OS Commands 1 This chapter explains how to manage a Brocade SAN and Brocade SilkWorm switches and directors using the Fabric OS command line interface (CLI). The following information is discussed: • • “Understanding Role-Based Access Control” on page 1-1 “Using the Command Line Interface” on page 1-2 Refer to Fabric OS Administrator’s Guide for information regarding optionally licensed features and configuration and management procedures.
1 Using the Command Line Interface The Fabric OS command line interface (accessed through either telnet or serial console) provides an administrator with full management capability on a SilkWorm switch. The Fabric OS CLI enables an administrator to monitor and manage entire fabrics, individual switches, and ports from a standard workstation. The entire suite of Fabric OS features and capabilities is available across an entire fabric, from a single access point.
Chapter Fabric OS Commands Fabric OS Command Reference Manual Publication Number: 53-1000240-01 2 2-1
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. aaaConfig aaaConfig Manages RADIUS configuration information. Synopsis Description aaaconfig [action][options] Use this command to manage the RADIUS configuration for the authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) services. Use this command to display, add, remove, change, enable or disable RADIUS configuration. When the command completes, any new configuration is saved persistently. It is effective for the next AAA request.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. aaaConfig 2 --radiusonly Enable authentication via the RADIUS configuration only. This is used to select the RADIUS configuration as the primary AAA service. To enable a RADIUS configuration, as least one server must exist in the configuration. --radiuslocal Enable the current RADIUS configuration as the primary AAA service and the switch-local database as the secondary AAA service.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. ad ad Specifies all administration domain (Admin Domain)-level operations.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. ad 2 are treated as implicit members of AD0. Members added to AD0 through --add are called explicit members. As other Admin Domains are created, upon --apply, the members used in those Admin Domains are automatically removed from the implicit member list of AD0.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. ad -s "switch_list" • Supports node or port WWNs. • End-device members, whose WWNs are used in an Admin Domain definition, need not be online when the Admin Domain is created (similar to a zoneCreate operation). • Provides rights to zone the devices.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. ad 2 The activate operation remains in the transaction buffer until you issue ad --apply or ad --save. --add ad_id -d "dev_list"-s "switch_list" Adds new members to an existing Admin Domain. The add operation remains in the transaction buffer until you issue ad --apply or ad --save. --apply Saves the current transaction buffer contents to the defined configuration and enforces the defined configuration on all switches in the fabric.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. ad operation remains in the transaction buffer until you issue ad --apply or ad --save. --rename ad_id new_ad_name Renames the Admin Domain. If a reserved name is used for new_ad_id (AD number format), the operation fails if the reserved name does not correspond to ad_id’s AD number. The rename operation remains in the transaction buffer until you issue ad --apply or ad --save.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. ad 2 Domain aware members. All FC Router imported devices in the AD device list will be marked as AD-aware members. Note Note: ad --show and ad --validate may return incorrect information about switch port members for non-AD aware switches running pre-v3.2 Fabric OS. This is because pre-v3.2 Fabric OS does not support Exchange Service Support (ESS), and therefore the Name Server cannot get the correct port range of such switches.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. ad To create an Admin Domain with both device and switch list: switch:admin> ad --create “AD1”, -d “100,5; 1,3; 21:20:00:00:e0:8b:05:4d:05” -s “100; 10:00:00:60:69:80:59:13” To deactivate Admin Domain 5: switch:admin> ad --deactivate 5 You are about to deactivate an AD.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. agshow agshow Displays the Access Gateway information registered with the fabric. Synopsis Description agshow [ag_name] | [--local] This command displays the details of the F_Ports and the configured N_Ports in the Access Gateway connected. The lines of display show: Name The name of the Access Gateway. Ports The number of ports in the Access Gateway. Enet IP Addr The IP address of the Access Gateway.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. agshow Examples 2 To display the Access Gateway information registered with the fabric. switch:admin> agshow WT_Stealth Name : WT_Stealth NodeName : 10:00:00:05:1e:34:e4:bd N-Port ID(s) : 0x010200 Number of Ports : 16 IP Address(es) : 10.202.90.231 Firmware Version : v1.0.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. agtCfgDefault agtCfgDefault Resets the SNMP agent configuration to default values. Synopsis Description agtcfgdefault Use this command to reset the configuration of the SNMP agent associated with the switch default values. This command prompts the user and only proceeds to reset on the user’s confirmation. All new values successfully configured by the command takes effect immediately.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. agtCfgDefault 2 Trap Recipient Severity Level The trap severity level is associated with each trap recipient IP address. The event trap level is in conjunction with the event's severity level. When an event occurs and if its severity level is at or below the set value, the SNMP event traps (swEventTrap, swFabricWatchTrap, and connUnitEventTrap) are sent to the trap recipients.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. agtCfgDefault Community 3: private (rw) No trap recipient configured Community 4: public (ro) No trap recipient configured Community 5: common (ro) No trap recipient configured Community 6: FibreChannel (ro) No trap recipient configured yet yet yet yet SNMP access list configuration: Entry 0: Access host subnet area 192.168.64.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. agtCfgSet 2 agtCfgSet Modifies the SNMP agent configuration. Synopsis Description agtcfgset Use this command to modify the configuration of the SNMP agent in the switch. All values successfully configured by this command take effect immediately. These values are persistent across power cycles and reboots. For dual-domain systems, this command operates on the SNMP agent associated with the current switch.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. agtCfgSet conjunction with the event's severity level. When an event occurs and if its severity level is at or below the set value, the SNMP event traps (swEventTrap, swFabricWatchTrap, and connUnitEventTrap) are sent to the trap recipients. By default, this value is set to 0, implying that no such traps are sent.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. agtCfgSet Examples 2 To modify the SNMP configuration values: switch:admin> agtcfgset Customizing MIB-II system variables ... At each prompt, do one of the followings: o to accept current value, o enter the appropriate new value, o to skip the rest of configuration, or o to cancel any change.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. agtCfgShow agtCfgShow Displays the SNMP agent configuration. Synopsis Description agtcfgshow Use this command to display the configuration of the SNMP agent in the switch. Note On a dual-switch chassis, there is one SNMP agent per logical switch. This command is specific to the logical switch to which you are logged in. The following information displays: sysDescr The system (switch) description.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. agtCfgShow 2 value is set to 0, implying that no swEventTrap is sent. Possible values are: • 0 none • 1 critical • 2 error • 3 warning • 4 informational • 5 debug Refer to errShow for related information. The ACL check is as follows: there are six ACLs to restrict SNMP get/set/trap operations to hosts under a host-subnet-area. Host-subnet-area is defined by comparing nonzero IP octets. For example, an ACL of 192.168.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. agtCfgShow Examples To display SNMP agent configuration information: switch:admin> agtcfgshow Current SNMP Agent Configuration Customizable MIB-II system variables: sysDescr = FC Switch sysLocation = End User Premise sysContact = Field Support. authTraps = 1 (ON) SNMPv1 community and trap recipient configuration: Community 1: Secret C0de (rw) Trap recipient: 192.168.1.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. aliAdd 2 aliAdd Adds a member to a zone alias. Synopsis Description aliadd "aliName", "member; member" Use this command to add one or more members to an existing zone alias. The alias member list cannot contain another zone alias. This command changes the defined configuration. For the change to be preserved across switch reboots, it must be saved to nonvolatile memory using the cfgSave command.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. aliCreate aliCreate Creates a zone alias. Synopsis Description alicreate "aliName", "member; member" Use this command to create a new zone alias. The zone alias member list must have at least one member (empty lists are not allowed). The alias member list cannot contain another zone alias. Refer to the zoneCreate command for more information on name and member specifications.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. aliDelete 2 aliDelete Deletes a zone alias. Synopsis Description alidelete "aliName" Use this command to delete a zone alias. This command changes the defined configuration. For the change to be preserved across switch reboots, it must be saved to nonvolatile memory using the cfgSave command. For the change to become effective, an appropriate zone configuration must be enabled using the cfgEnable command.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. aliRemove aliRemove Removes a member from a zone alias. Synopsis Description aliremove "aliName", "member; member" Use this command to remove one or more members from an existing zone alias. If all members are removed, the zone alias is deleted. This command changes the defined configuration (see cfgShow). For the change to be preserved across switch reboots, it must be saved to nonvolatile memory using the cfgSave command.
Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. aliShow 2 aliShow Displays zone alias information. Synopsis Description alishow ["pattern"][, mode] Use this command to display zone configuration information. If an operand is specified, it is used as a pattern to match zone alias names; those that match in the defined configuration are displayed. Note When secure mode is enabled, this command can be issued only from the primary FCS switch.
2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. aptPolicy aptPolicy Changes or displays the Advanced Performance Tuning (APT) policy. Synopsis Description aptpolicy [policy] Use this command to change the performance algorithm on the switch.
