General
In command syntax examples used in this guide, brackets {[} should indicate optional elements of
the command syntax, commands, options, and arguments should be in bold font, and variables
should be in italic font.
Chapter 2, FCIP on the 7800 Switch and FX8-24 Blade
Under the heading “7800 switch hardware overview,” callout number 4 in Figure 2 is corrected to
GbE ports 0 through 5.
Under the heading “7800 switch license options” on page 6, change the following bullet item to
remove the requirement that a 7800 upgrade license required to enable the Advanced FICON
Acceleration License or CUP support on the 7800 switch.
• The 7800 upgrade license to enable full hardware capabilities, full FCIP tunnel capabilities,
and support of advanced capabilities, such as Open Systems Tape Pipelining (OSTP).
In Table 2, “7800 FCIP feature licenses,” on page 7, there is a change to the following information
since a 7800 upgrade license is not required to enable the Advanced FICON Acceleration License
or CUP support on the 7800 switch.
