NOTE
When disabling the firmware consistency check, there should be no LUNs with pending
decommission or in a failed state. If the firmware download to a version earlier than Fabric OS 7.1.0
is disallowed because of any LUNs under decommission or in a failed state, you must either
complete decommissioning, or remove the offending LUNs before retrying cryptocfg
--delete
-decommissionedkeyids to disable the firmware consistency check.
NOTE
You should not join a Fabric OS 7.0.1(x) node into an encryption group or eject a node with Fabric OS
7.1.0 or later when the firmware consistency check for the device decommission feature is enabled
in the encryption group.
Fabric OS and ESKM compatibility matrix
Table 15 identifies the Fabric OS and SKM/ESKM compatibility matrix. As noted in the table,
compatibility limitations exist that are based on Fabric OS version, client SDK version, and
SKM/ESKM server version being used.
SKM 1.1.4 client SDK is used by Fabric OS 7.0.1; it is incompatible with ESKM 3.0 servers, but is
compatible with SKM 1.x and ESKM 2.x servers.
NOTES:
• The Brocade Encryption Switch should be upgraded to Fabric OS 7.1.0 before the
ESKM server can be upgraded from version 2.x to 3.x.
• Upgrading ESKM from version 2.x to 3.0 is an offline process for both ESKM and the
Brocade Encryption Switch.
• If ESKM 3.x is running, downgrading from Fabric OS 7.1.0 to Fabric OS 7.0.x or v6.4.x
will result in incompatibility issues with ESKM 3.0. As a result, you will need to
downgrade to ESKM 2.0. This downgrade of ESKM is also an offline process and
requires certificates to be signed and exchanged between the Brocade Encryption
Switch and ESKM.
