Chapter 44, Flow Vision
In the section, "Configuring Basic Options", on page 1587, add the following note after step 5,
bullet 1:
NOTE
You must enter the slot number and port number. For Backbone chassis, the slot number
cannot be 0 (zero). For switches, you must enter 0 (zero) as the slot number. For logical (virtual)
switches, follow the rule for the physical chassis (either Backbone chassis or switch) from
which you created the logical switch.
In the section “Flow Monitor,” on page 1605, modify the third paragraph and associated bullet
points as follows:
Flow Vision provides a single interface to manage flows and unifies different monitor functions,
such as end-to-end monitors and frame monitors. The Flow Vision collector polls the switch every
5-minutes. Flow Monitor provides the following monitors:
End-to-end monitors: Measures the traffic in terms of word count between a pair of ports (host
and target) ports using a 5-minute sampling rate.
Frame based monitoring: Measures the transmitted frame count through a port with specific
values in the first 64 bytes of a frame using a 5-minute sampling rate.
ISL monitoring: Measures the traffic transmitted via an ISL to different destination domains
using a 5-minute sampling rate.
Top Talker monitoring: Measures the flows that are major consumer of bandwidth on a port
using a 5-minute sampling rate.
In the section “Frame Monitoring Requirements,” on page 1623, change the book reference from
the Fabric OS Administrator’s Guide to the Flow Vision Administrator’s Guide.
Chapter 50, Monitoring and Alerting Policy Suite
In the section “Viewing MAPS policy data,” on page 1808, modify the tenth and eleventh bullet
points as follows:
Edit button — Select a policy and click to open the Edit Policy dialog box. You cannot edit a
default policy. For more information, refer to “Editing a MAPS policy” on page 1812.
Delete button — Select one or more policies and click to delete. For more information, refer to
“Deleting a MAPS policy” on page 1816.
In the section “Editing MAPS policy,” on page 1812, modify the second step as follows:
2. Select any non-default policy in the list and select Edit.
You can also select the switch in the list and select Edit to edit the active policy. When you edit
the active policy on the switch, updated rules activate on the switch automatically.
In the section “Deleting MAPS policy,” on page 1816, modify the second step as follows:
2. Select the policies you want to delete in the list and select the Delete.
