Software Environment Variables for Scripting
Keep in mind the following:
• Run scripts at your own risk. The management server lets you run any script including those that
can disable the management server.
• (Management Servers on Windows Only) If you leave the Remote Console (cmd /k) open after
running a script, users can traverse the directory structure of the management server.
The software provides the following environment variables for you to put in your scripts. For
example, assume you have a script that backups a host. You could use the variables to obtain
information about the host.
The software gathers information about the element you right-clicked. For example, if you use the
variable, APPIQ_ELEMENT_ID, the management server obtains the element ID of the element you
right-clicked.
The following table lists the variables that can be used to gather information for all elements.
