HP Storage Essentials V5.1 User Guide Second Edition (Linux Release) (T4283-96056, November 2006)

Provisioning Manager360
Note from table:
1
The EMC Navisphere® CLI is required to communicate with the CLARiiON storage system. The
CLARiiON storage system must be configured to recognized the management server as a
privileged user. See ”EMC Navisphere CLI Is Required” on page 386 for more information.
2
The “Create Pool Using Settings” column refers to the functionality that lets you choose the type
of pool, usually RAID level.
3
The management server does not support provisioning on HP EVA storage systems discovered
with the EVA provider; however, users can perform provisioning by using other tools, such as
Command View.
4
You may see provisioning information that is 30 minutes old. The EVA provider uses a cache
that is refreshed every 30 minutes. Any provisioning changes could take up to 30 minutes to
enter the cache. To update the display and the cache, perform Get Details/Discovery Data
Collection or a single element refresh (Update Element Data).
5
IBM and other storage systems that use external providers show raw capacity for a storage
pool, instead of formatted capacity.
6
You are using the EVA SMI-S provider if the cimom.eva.discovery.useSMI property
(Options > Storage Essentials > Manage Product Health. Then, click Advanced in the
Disk Space tree) is set to true. See ”Discovering HP StorageWorks EVA Arrays Using Command
View EVA 4.x” on page 76.
7
You are using the EVA provider if the cimom.eva.discovery.useSMI property (Options
> Storage Essentials > Manage Product Health. Then, click Advanced in the Disk Space
tree) is set to false. See ”Discovering HP StorageWorks EVA Arrays Using Command View EVA
6.x” on page 75.
