Storage Mirroring Reporting Center user guide 47
Removing non-Storage Mirroring nodes
Storage Mirroring Reporting Center is designed to monitor Storage Mirroring servers. There is no limit set
on the number of Storage Mirroring servers that can be monitored.
Storage Mirroring Reporting Center can only monitor up to 10 non-Storage Mirroring servers. If you
attempt to monitor more than 10 non-Storage Mirroring servers, the following message will appear:
“Report not generated: product monitoring more elements than licenses allow. [Number] servers without
Storage Mirroring monitored.
To remedy this situation, you must remove some of the non-Storage Mirroring servers you are monitoring
from the Navigation Tree.
If you are getting host information data returned on a node but do not get any data when running Storage
Mirroring reports, check to ensure that Storage Mirroring is installed on the server you are monitoring. If
Storage Mirroring isn't installed, you can still gather host information from that machine; however, you
won't be able to gather data specific to Storage Mirroring.
Viewing collector reports
If you are not seeing data returned for the nodes you have created then it would first be useful to run the
Collector Errors Report. This can be accessed by:
1. Right-click on the node that isn't returning the data.
2. Select
SMRC Reports.
3. Select
Collector Errors.
Looking at the error messages can often determine the cause of the data not being displayed. Below are
some common examples and what they mean:
Common Collector Errors Reason
Error querying server 'servername': 9 : Storage
Mirroring server is incompatible or the version could
not be determined
The SMRC Collector is unable to communicate
with Storage Mirroring on the server. Ensure
that Storage Mirroring is configured on the
server and that it is a supported version by
Storage Mirroring Reporting Center.
RPC Server is unavailable attempting to connect to
\\servername\root\cimv2 via WMI
Check connectivity and configuration with
wbemtest. Check firewall settings allow
connection to server from SMRC collector.
