Introduction
Intended audience
The intended audience for the HP StorageWorks Storage Mirroring
®
User’s Guide is network administrators with expertise
in Microsoft
®
Windows
®
. The network administrator should be responsible for setup and maintenance of the network and
should have working experience installing, configuring, and maintaining network applications.
Conventions used in this guide
The following conventions are used throughout this guide:
 Bold is used for items you click or select with the mouse, such as menu names and items, dialog box options, or button
names. For example, when you see
File, Options, you should select the File menu and then choose Options from the
pull-down menu.
 Green italics is used for cross-references to other sections or chapters in this guide.
 Code text is used to indicate text that is displayed on-screen exactly as shown (such as screen messages or error
messages) and text that should be entered exactly as shown, such as directories, file names, or URLs.

you can install the free Adobe Acrobat Reader

by downloading the latest version from the Adobe web site at

 User’s Guide—This guide is a complete how-to guide with detailed steps for installing and using Storage Mirroring.
This guide also contains a complete list of Storage Mirroring messages, alerts, and statistics. The file name of this

 Evaluation Guide—This guide is for those users who are evaluating Storage Mirroring. It walks users through specific
steps allowing them to become familiar with the Storage Mirroring core technology first hand. It also includes an

 Readme—Storage Mirroring includes a readme file which contains any last-minute information. This file is called
readme.html and is located in the \Storage Mirroring\docs directory of the product CD and in the root of the
installation directory you selected during the installation.
