Description
This release includes updated firmware for the HP StoreEver 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader and MSL Tape
Libraries.
The firmware can be updated through any of the following methods:
• Remote management interface (RMI).
• Operator control panel (OCP) using a USB flash drive.
• HP Library and Tape Tools (L&TT).

Update recommendation
Recommended
IMPORTANT: Firmware versions 3.90, 5.80, 8.20, and 1080 have been recalled and are no longer
available. Certain backup applications and the LTO-5 and LTO-6 tape drives were incompatible using
this version. Any autoloader or library using with these firmware versions should upgrade to versions
4.00, 5.90, 8.30, 1090 or newer versions as soon as possible.

All previous versions of firmware.

Fixes
• The HP StoreEver MSL Encryption Kit token PIN and backup passwords can now be up to 16
characters in length. The previous firmware revision accepted only 15 characters for the token
PIN and backup file password. Token PIN and backup file passwords longer than 16 characters
