Version: 4.20, 6.10, 8.60, and 1120 Description This release includes updated firmware for the HP StoreEver 1/8 G2 Tape Autoloader and MSL2024, MSL4048, MSL8048, and MSL8096 Tape Libraries. The firmware can be updated through any of the following methods: • Remote management interface (RMI). • Operator control panel (OCP) using a USB flash drive. • HP Library and Tape Tools (L&TT). Enhancements • The autoloader and libraries now support integration with encryption key management servers using the Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) standard. This feature requires that the HP StoreEver MSL2024/4048/8096 KMIP license be installed before the feature can be enabled and configured. The autoloader also supports KMIP integration and uses the same license as the libraries.

MSL4048, MSL8048, MSL8096: 1. Download current firmware using HP Library & Tape Tools or from the HP support website: http:// www.hp.com/support/storage. Copy the firmware onto the USB flash drive. 2. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on the back of the library. 3. From the Support menu, select FW Upgrade > By USB. 4. Select the library as the target for the upgrade, and select the filename of the firmware. 5. Click Upgrade. 6.

Supersedes history IMPORTANT: When updating the MSL2024 to firmware version 2.00 or higher from firmware 1.70 or 1.80 without first updating to 1.91, you will get an “Invalid Robotic Library firmware” error (83 02). To resolve this issue, update the library firmware a second time to update the robotics firmware to the proper level. IMPORTANT: Several configuration settings are reset to defaults if the library is upgrading from firmware versions 1.70 or 1.80: • Mailslot is set to disabled.
