and virtual) attached to it while allowing easy SAN connectivity. The edge fabric switch provides all
the fabric services while Access Gateway connects to the edge switch by what appears as a Host Bus
Adapter (HBA) connection. This architecture allows the deployment of many additional servers without
requiring a domain and the associated fabric rebuild trafc that is prevalent when switches are powered
on, or added, or removed from a fabric.
Refer to the Brocade Access Gateway Administrator’s Guide available on h

Please check h
ttp://www.hp.com for the latest updates.
DPOD is an optional feature on the embedded switch listed above. DPOD takes the expansion capability
of xed Ports on Demand (PODs) and adds the exibility of connecting to any available port as long
as a valid license is available. Previously, POD allowed only specic ports to be utilized. With D POD,
any physically available port can be made active as long as a valid license is available. This allows
customers the exibility of automatically changing port assignments where previously the port assignments
were xed and inexible.
Reliability, Availability, Serviceability (RAS)
The RASLog has been modied to support IPv6. RAS will a lso obsolete traceftp and savecore CLI and
add its functionality to supportsave and supportftp.
Management
Fabric OS 5.3.0 added a new user role, the secAdmin or Security Administrator. This role has
