configDefault
Restores the system configuration to default values.
Synopsis configdefault
Description Use this command to reset a subset of configuration settings to the default values.
With the exception of the following, all configuration parameters are reset to their default values
(see configure):
• Ethernet MAC address, IP address, subnetmask, and boot ROM parameters
• IP gateway address
• License keys
• OEM customization
• Product ID and Vendor ID
• SNMP configuration
• iSCSI configuration
• System name
• Chassis name
• World Wide Name
• Brocade Advanced Zoning configuration (includes aliases, zones and configurations)
• Security parameters and policies
• User account passwords (includes all user config and all built-in accounts)
• Switch PID format
• Ethernet Link Mode
NOTE
After performing a Configdefault, it does not completely remove all the FCIP tunnels and GigE IP
addresses information. This can be an issue when you attempt to use the same information to
create new tunnels or modify the existing ones.
Refer to the configure command for more information on default values for configuration
parameters.
This command cannot be executed on an enabled switch. You must first disable the switch using
switchDisable.
Some configuration parameters are cached by the system. To avoid unexpected system behavior,
reboot the system after exciting this command.
NOTE
When issuing the configdefault command on the Brocade 7500, it persistently disables the ports.
The execution of this command is subject to Admin Domain restrictions that may be in place.
