portDisable
Disables a port.
Synopsis portdisable [slot/]port
Description Use this command to disable a port. If a port is connected to another switch when disabled, the
fabric may reconfigure. Devices connected to this port can no longer communicate with the fabric.
If the port was online before being disabled, a state transition will be indicated in one of the
following ways: RSCN, SNMP trap, or Web pop-up window.
Notes The front panel LED of a disabled port flashes yellow with a two-second cycle.
The execution of this command is subject to Admin Domain restrictions that may be in place. Refer
to chapter 1, "Understanding Admin Domain Restrictions" and Appendix A, "Command Availability"
for details.
Operands This command has the following operands:
slot On blades systems only, specify the slot number of the port to be disabled,
followed by a slash (/).
port Specify a port number to be disabled, relative to its slot for bladed systems.
Use switchShow to display a list of valid ports.
Examples To disable a port:
switch:admin> portdisable 2/4
