HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager Administrator Guide (T3680-96069, June 2012)

1. On the DNS server, insert an A record (host record) and a pointer (PTR) record or reverse
lookup record for the management server.
2. For Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) environments, set a permanent lease and
reservation for the management server.
3. Ensure that the DNS is configured for DHCP Auto Registration.
An alternative solution is to modify the Hosts file on each browsing computer and the management
server.
1. Locate the Hosts file in the following directory:
On Windows: %systemroot%\System32\Drivers\Etc
On HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris: /etc
2. Using a text editor, open the Hosts file, and at the end of the file, add a line duplicating the
domain name format.
For example:
11.22.33.44 MyComputer.roadrunner.acme.net
11.22.33.44 MyComputer
3. Save the file and exit the editor.
Unsupported JRE version
Verify that a supported JRE version is installed on the client computer.
If you are running HP Replication Solutions Manager 3.0 or later you can download and
install JRE from the Java website at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/index.html.
If you are running HP Replication Solutions Manager 2.0 or earlier, see the JREserver CD for
a list of supported versions, which can be downloaded directly from the CD.
Whenever you install or update your browser or JRE:
1. Close all browser windows.
2. Allow the browser or JRE installation to complete.
3. Open a new browser session and browse to the server.
