HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager Administrator Guide (T3680-96069, June 2012)

2. If the following error message appears, proceed to Step 3.
Operation failed!
Target Object Does Not Exist
3. On the HP P6000 Command View navigation pane, Settings view, select P6000 CV on
hostname.
The HP P6000 Command View Management Properties window opens.
4. Click Discover Storage Systems.
A discovery of storage resources in HP P6000 Command View is performed. Wait for the
discovery to complete before performing the next step (this can take several minutes).
5. On the replication manager toolbar, click the refresh icon, and then click OK.
A global refresh of storage resources in the replication manager is performed (this can take
several minutes).
6. When the global refresh is complete, refresh the content pane to display the newly discovered
resources.
Unknown objects in the database
When the array is uninitialized, and DR groups or snapshots are deleted using HP P6000 Command
View, the replication manager database shows the objects as unknown.
For the solution to this problem, see “Removing stale data” (page 32).
LUN inaccessible to host
A stalled LUN event (4206001b) in HP P6000 Command View indicates that a LUN has been
inaccessible to the host for at least four minutes, causing the LUN to be quiesced. For additional
information, see the HP P6000 Command View Software Suite User Guide.
DR groups in unknown state
If DR groups are in an unknown state, and you recently imported the replication manager database
from another management server, the replication manager's Storage Agent account credentials
may not match the HP P6000 Command View account credentials on the new management server.
In this case, Authorization Error appears in the configuration panel.
For the solution to this problem, see “Configuring account credentials” (page 23).
Remote host cannot detect a destination LUN
If a host cannot detect a destination LUN, the DR group access mode could be none. A remote
server can detect a LUN with read-only access mode but not with no access (none).
Using the replication manager GUI, change the DR group access mode from none to read-only.
For instructions, see the online help.
When a destination array is offline
HP recommends that you suspend DR groups when the destination array is offline. This prevents
potential problems. When the destination array is unavailable and both controllers on the source
array are powered off and on, host presentation of source virtual disks is blocked. By design, the
array does not present virtual disks to host servers if it cannot determine the source/destination
status of the remote virtual disk.
If hosts lose access to source virtual disks after the array is powered off and on, consider the
possibility that the destination array is offline. To confirm, check the controller event log for the
following event code:
