HP P6000 Performance Advisor 1.0
NOTE: An HP P6000 Performance Advisor license must be applied to an HP P6000 EVA storage
system before adding it for monitoring. For more detailed information, click the help link in the session
pane and select HP P6000 Performance Advisor help. The HP P6000 Performance Advisor User Guide
also contains more information.
Features
Quick Setup: Quickly set up and start monitoring HP P6000 EVA storage systems and their
performance objects.
Key Metrics: View statistical performance data of storage systems and objects for the most useful
counters. Key Metrics charts show live data samples or historical performance data for the duration
selected.
Threshold monitoring and notifications: Set threshold levels (Minor and Major) for counters and
monitor performance against threshold levels. Receive notification when set threshold levels are
crossed. You can also view threshold levels in charts for a performance object.
Dashboard: View storage systems and quickly scan for and identify performance issues. Drill
down to further analyze performance at controller and host port levels. Also quickly view
performance data for user-defined key performance indicators.
Charts: View historical data or live performance data samples for a predefined interval or custom
duration. Add multiple counters to the same chart and view performance of the object for those
counters.
Reports: Generate point-in-time performance reports in PDF and CSV formats for specific
performance objects. You can specify durations, such as a day or month and save reports for
future reference.
Database: View a summary of the database, export the performance data, and maintain the
database space by purging older data.
Workarounds and limitations

service, only after a confirmation that the service has completely stopped.

Aggregate or average live data samples collected across both the controllers is not available even if
one of the controllers in the storage system is inaccessible.
Performance monitoring for physical disks not supported
Performance monitoring for physical disks listed under Disk GroupsUngrouped Disks is not supported.
Displaying Advanced Statistics
When you click the Advanced Statistics link in the Key Performance Indicators pane under the
DashboardOverview tab, the statistics for the last selected view type appears under the Key
Performance Indicators tab.
Workaround: Based on the statistics that you want to view, select either Basic or Advanced from the
View list under the Key Performance Indicators tab.
