Volume Type
You can select the type of volume capacity information from the Volume Type drop-down list. The types
that
can be selected from the drop-down list are as follows:
Total Volume: information on the all the volumes is displayed.
Internal Volume Only: information only on the internal volumes is displayed.
External Volume Only: information only on the external volumes is displayed.
Capacity
The OPEN V
olume button displays the volume capacity information (capacity by volume type, pie
chart, total capacity) on open system volumes in the storage system. The displayed information
does not
include the capacity of V-VOL. When there is no o p en system volume, No Volume is
displayed.
The Main
frame Volume button displays the volume capacity information (capacity by volume
type, pie chart, total capacity) on zSeries, S/390 (mainframe), and multiplatform volumes in the
storage system. The displayed information d oes not include the capacity of V-VOL. When there is
no
zSeries and S/390 volume, No Volume is displayed.

rt and capacity by volume type when OPEN Volume is selected:
The followi ng capacities are displayed in MB when the To tal Volume Capaci ty is 10 GB or
less. The following capacities are displayed in GB, when the Total Volume Capacit y is more
than
10 GB.
Alloc
ated LDEV Capacit y - displays the capacity of open system volumes (LDEVs) in the
storage system that have assigned paths and are available to the user. The percentage (%)
to total capacity of open system volumes is displayed in parentheses, as well as in the pie
chart indicated by the b lue area ( ).

:
It also includes all LDEVs that consist LUSE volumes, but does not include control
cylinders.
Unallocated LDEV Capac it y - d isplays the capacity of open system volumes (LDEVs) in the
stor
age
system that do not have assigned paths and are available to the user. The percentage
(%)
to
total capacity of open system volumes is displayed in parentheses, as well as in the
pie chart indicated by the yellow area (
).
Note:
It does not include control cylinders, nor reserved volumes of Auto LUN.
