Enabling HAFM to Manage the Director
To manage a new director, it must be recognized by the HAFM application. Follow
these steps to enable HAFM to recognize a new director:
1. Click the Product menu and choose New from the drop-down menu. The New
Product dialog box displays, as shown in Figure 2–25.

2. Type the IP address you configured earlier, see “Configure Director Network
Information” on page 2–31.
3. Choose Director-64 from the Product Type drop-down list and click OK. A new
director icon displays at the Products View page.
4. Repeat this procedure for each new director.
Verify Communication Between the Director and HAFM Server
Follow these steps to check director-to-server communication.
1. From the Products View page (as shown in Figure 2–26), take note of the shape
and color of the symbol behind the director icon. Table 2–3 explains these
symbols.
