3 Managing firmware versions

The director 2/64 internal operating code is downloaded from the HAFM appliance and stored on

a CTP2 card. Up to eight (8) versions can be stored on the HAFM appliance hard drive and made

available for download to a director. This chapter contains information on the following firmware

management tasks:

• Determining a director firmware version, page 93

• Adding a firmware version, page 94

• Modifying a firmware version description, page 95

• Deleting a firmware version, page 96

• Downloading a firmware version to a director, page 96

• Backing up the director’s configuration, page 98

Determining a director firmware version

Use these steps to determine the director firmware version:

1. Open the HAFM application.

The View All - HAFM 8.6 main window appears.

2. Double-click the icon representing the director to be inspected for firmware version.

The Hardware View page for the selected director appears.

3. Select Maintenance > Firmware Library.

The Director Firmware Library dialog box appears (Figure 64).

4. The firmware version appears at the lower left corner of the dialog box in WW.XX.YY.ZZ format,

where:

• WW is the version level

• XX is the release level

• YY is the patch level

• ZZ is the build level

5. Click Close.
