Although many different software and hardware configurations are tested and supported by Brocade
Communications Systems, Inc. for Fabric OS v7.0.0, documenting all possible configurations and
scenarios is beyond the scope of this document.
This document is specific to Fabric OS v7.0.0. To obtain information about an OS version other than
v7.0.0, refer to the documentation for that OS version.
What is new in this document
The Fabric OS v7.0.0 Command Reference documents supports the current Fabric OS release and the
new hardware platforms.
NEW COMMANDS
The following commands and associated man pages have been added since the publication of the Fabric
OS v6.4.0 release of this manual:
• bufOpMode - Changes or displays the Buffer Optimized Mode.(introduced in Fabric OS v6.4.1)
• classConfig - Displays RBAC class permissions (“Fabric Services”).
• fabricName - Configures the fabric name (“Fabric Services”).
• faPwwn - Manages fabric-assigned port WWNs (Dynamic Fabric Provisioning).
• fmMonitor - Manages frame monitor configuration. This command replaces and enhances the
fmConfig command (“Advanced Performance Monitoring (APM).”).
• frameLog - Collects data about discarded Class 3 frames.
• motd - Sets the pre-login banner on the chassis (“Security”).
• portCfgCompress- Configures a port for inflight compression (“Inflight Encryption and
Compression”).
• PortCfgDport - Configures a port as a diagnostic port (“Fabric Services”).
• portCfgEncrypt- Configures a port for encryption (“Inflight Encryption and Compression”).
• portEncCompShow- Displays encryption and compression port configuration details (“Inflight
Encryption and Compression”).
• portCfgFaultDelay - Configures the fault delay for a single FC port (introduced in Fabric OS v6.4.1).
• portCfgFec - Enables or disables Forward Error Correction (“FCR”).
• portCfgOctetSpeedCombo - Sets port speed combination for a port octet on Condor 3 -based
platforms (“Platform Support”).
• portDportTest - Initiates or terminates a D_Port test (“Fabric Services”).
• portDecom - Decommissions an E_Port without frame loss.
• roleConfig - Manages user-defined roles (“Security”).
• serDesTuneMode - Configures and displays SerDes values on the Brocade FC8-16. (introduced in
Fabric OS v6.4.2)
• thMonitor - Enables monitoring of small form-factor plug-gables (SFPs) (“Fabric Watch”).
