HP StorageWorks EFS WAN Accelerator 3.0.
Version: 3.0.12 Description This document is intended for customers who purchased the HP StorageWorks Enterprise File Services (EFS) WAN Accelerator. Update recommendation Supersedes 2008. Recommended These release notes supersede part number AG421–96008, published in February Accessing future product updates HP notifies customers who are registered for software support when software updates are available.
Hardware and software requirements The following table summarizes the hardware and software requirements for the HP EFS WAN Accelerator: Table 1 HP Component Hardware and Software Requirements HP EFS WAN Accelerator 19 inch (483 mm) two- or four-post rack. • Any computer that supports a web browser with color image display. HP EFS WAN Accelerator Management Console, HP StorageWorks Enterprise File Services WAN Accelerator Manager • The Management Console has been tested with Mozilla Firefox versions 1.
Agentless CIFS prepopulation RiOS v3.0 includes an improved facility for proactively warming HP EFS WAN Accelerator data stores with contents from remote file shares. Using the Management Console, proactive warming can be initiated on a real-time or scheduled basis. You no longer need to install a prewarming server-side agent for data store warming.
pass-through traffic separately or aggregated, and top-talker and listener tallies from a Netflow v5 compatible collector. New reporting and statistics RiOS v3.0 provides dramatic improvements in the area of visibility and reporting for device and global monitoring. Key improvements include: • Port and application auto-discovery—All TCP traffic flowing through an HP EFS WAN Accelerator is inspected, and detected ports are automatically added to the management system reporting facility.
For example: Using the Management Console: 1. 2. Go to the Setup: Start/Stop Services page and select Manual from the PFS drop-down list. Save your configuration changes to memory in the Configuration Manager page. Using the CLI: 1. 2. Connect to the CLI. For detailed information, see the HP StorageWorks Enterprise File Services WAN Accelerator Command-Line Interface reference manual.
If you upgrade to v3.0 and clear the data store while running v3.0, you will not be able to downgrade to a previous version of the software without clearing the data store again. Upgrading from version 3.0.4e to 3.0.12 If upgrading a 3010 or 5010 from WA 3.0.
HP System Management Homepage When logging in to the HP System Management Homepage, use the admin login only; do not attempt to use a Radius or TACACS+ login. The login page of the HP System Management Homepage does not allow a blank password. Set the admin account password before attempting to login to the HP System Management Homepage. When sending test traps from the HP System Management Homepage (Settings > SNMP Webagent > SNMP Configuration), only version 1 traps are sent.
