HP StorageWorks EFS WAN Accelerator 3.0.12 release notes (AG421-96009, April 2009)

24283 Fixed a memory leak when optimizing CIFS with small writes.
24299 Upgraded OpenSSH to 4.7p1 to fix "error: channel 0: chan_read_failed for istate 3" errors
when using scp.
24619 Fixed crash with log message "[dataseg.CRIT] - {- -} malloc of 1500 bytes for 1500 failed"
while optimizing NFS.
Fixed between 3.0.10 n106 and 3.0.11 n111
Fixed two environmental values retrieval issues. In one case, the system took longer than expected to
start SNMP; as a result, the HP agents that retrieve environmental values such as temperature, RAID
status, and so on, failed to start. In the second case, the "snmp-server listen enable" and "snmp-server
listen interface <interface>" commands unexpectedly modified the interfaces that retrieve environmental
values, resulting in numerous error messages in the system log.
788 Log severity changes take effect in a more timely fashion.
7710 "show protocol cifs" now shows the state of latency optimization and dynamic write throttling.
"show protocol mapi" now shows the state of MAPI and NSPI optimizations.
14009 Fixed watchdog timeouts and deadlocks under heavy disk use. Previous workaround was to
enable Data Replication commands.
14234 Fixed crash that occurs in error handling during recovery from a RAID error.
14350 Fixed a rare crash in NFS when cancelling read ahead.
14520 Limited the size of system dumps.
14742 Fixed the inability to disable the NFS v2 and v4 alarms.
14932 Fixed packet counts in per connection statistics.
15426 During system startup, messages inform user that system is initializing so that it does not look
hung.
15821 Fixed problem where rapid entry and exit of admission control causes WAN Accelerator to
get stuck in bypass, with errors like: "Mar 25 13:17:45 sh-a sport[3927]:
[tproxy/server/0x0xc798400.ALERT] - {- -} HALT tproxy server 10.21.5.55:7810 accept error:
Address already in use(98) stopping listening".
16602 Fixed MAPI warning about "No requests for dispatch return!"
17249 Added "tacacs-server first_hit" option, which fails authentication if authentication check failed
on first contacted server instead of trying all listed TACACS+ servers.
17656 Fixed a problem where modesl 5520, 6020, and 6120 may hit admission control at 6000+
connections.
17928 Configuration for user-cap feature is removed because it is not useful.
18261 Removed superfluous MAPI warning log messages "Unknown op with no handle request" and
"Shutdown with request outstanding"
18376 Improved TACACS+ timeout mechanism.
18382 Enhance system diagnostics to provide additional RAID information for drive failures.
18688 List of unsupported clients and servers for which CIFS latency optimization is disabled by
default has been updated. To see the list of unsupported platforms, use the command 'show protocol
cifs nosupport'.
18753 Changed kernel swap policy to reduce excessive swapping.
