HP StorageWorks EFS WAN Accelerator 3.0.8 release notes (AG424-96008, April 2009)
Port labels enable you to apply rules to batches of ports
The HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager provides port labels for secure and interactive ports. You
can create additional labels as needed.
Upgrading from version 2.1 to 3.0.8
This section describes how to upgrade the HP EFS WAN Accelerator software from version 2.1 to
version 3.0. These instructions assume you are familiar with the HP EFS WAN Accelerator, the HP
EFS WAN Accelerator CLI, and the Management Console.
You do not have to clear the data store before performing a software version upgrade.
To upgrade from version 2.1. to version 3.0.8:
1. Connect to the Management Console on each HP EFS WAN Accelerator.
2. Click Setup Manager to display the Networking: Primary Interface page.
3. Click Software Upgrade to display the Software Upgrade page.
4. Under Install Software specify an installation option:
• Install from URL
• Install from Local File
5. Click Install Image.
6. Save the current configuration in the Configuration Manager page.
7. Reboot the Management console in the Reboot Manager page.
If you upgrade to v3.0.8 and clear the data store while running v3.0.8, you will not be able to
downgrade to a previous version of the software without clearing the data store again.
Miscellaneous issues
SNMP configuration
The HP EFS WAN Accelerator Manager has two graphical user interfaces; one for WAN Accelerator
management and general system management (the Management Console), and the other for the HP
System Management Homepage. Use the Management Console or the command-line interface to
modify SNMP settings, rather than the System Management Homepage. To change the read-write
community string, use the snmp-server rwcommunity CLI command.
NOTE:
The read-write community string must be different from the read-only community string for proper
functioning of the System Management Homepage.
Setting the system date/time
When setting the system date/time in the web-based GUI, if the date and time is significantly off when
set to the current date and time, the GUI will log the user off. Should this occur, log back in, and the
date is now correct. You can then set the time.
