8. At the > prompt, enter the user-level password (the default is password) and press Enter. The

password is case sensitive. The HyperTerminal window is displayed with a C> prompt at the top

of the window (Figure 11).

9. At the C> prompt, enter ipconfig and press Enter. The HyperTerminal window is displayed with

configuration information listed as follows:

•MAC Address

• IP Address (default is 10.1.1.10, factory preset is 10.1.1.10)

•Subnet Mask (default is 255.0.0.0).

• Gateway Address (default is 0.0.0.0)

Only the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway Address fields are configurable.

10.Change the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address as directed by the customer’s

network administrator. To change switch network addresses, enter the following at the C>

prompt:

ipconfig xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy zzz.zzz.zzz.zzz

The IP address is always xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, the subnet mask is always yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy,

and the gateway address is always zzz.zzz.zzz.zzz. The octets xxx, yyy, and zzz are

decimals from zero through 255. If a network address is to remain unchanged, type the current

address in the respective field.

When the new network addresses are configured at the switch, the message Request

completed OK is displayed at the bottom of the Edge Switch 2/32—HyperTerminal window.

11.Select File > Exit close the HyperTerminal application. A message box is displayed (Figure 12).
