HP StorageWorks HSG80 ACS Solution Software V8.8 for HP-UX Installation and Configuration Guide (AA-RV1FA-TE, March 2005)

Preparing the Host System
113HSG80 ACS Solution Software V8.8 for HP-UX Installation and Configuration Guide
6. Turn on the power to the HP system, but do not boot the system.
7. Use the CLI to configure your array controller if it is not yet configured.
8. Boot the system. During the boot process, device special files are created for
each logical unit configured on the array controller, and a Logical Unit
Number (LUN) is assigned to each storageset configured on the array
controller.
If you need to reconfigure the controller at a later time, device special files can
be created without Reboot, either manually or automatically, by using the
insf -e command:
After rebooting the new kernel, use
ioscan -f to verify that drivers are installed,
HBA status is OK and all target LUNs are identified.
Configuring a High Availability Cluster Using MC/ServiceGuard
With MC/ServiceGuard V11.xx on HP-UX, a multihost configuration is
supported on HP systems. The HP StorageWorks Command Console (SWCC)
Agent and installation scripts allow Agent failover.
To configure the system for use with HP-UX MC/ServiceGuard:
1. On each host, connect the FC adapter to the switch.
2. Connect each port of the array controller to the switch.
3. Ensure that the controller is in transparent failover dual-redundant mode.
