Before Installing the Agent
The Agent requires the minimum system requirements, as defined in the release
notes for your operating system. The program is designed to operate with the
Client V2.5 on Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows Server 2003.
Installing and Configuring the Agent
The SWCC Agent has been designed to run on HP-UX V11.00 and V11.11 in 32-
or 64-bit mode operation.
Note: SWCC is not supported on HP-UX Versions 11i V2.0 or 11i V2.0 Update 2.
The memory requirements are based on estimations that have been used during
the use of the product. You may see an increase or decrease of memory usage
based on your configuration.
■ 8–16 MB of available physical memory is required for 8–700 GB of storage.
■ 32–64 MB of available physical memory is required for 700 GB–2 TB of
storage.
The SWCC Agent software requires that you install using a super user account
such as ROOT or you should at least have SU privileges to install and run the
SWCC Agent.
Checking Disk Space
/tmp
The SWCC Agent installation uses approximately 60 mb of space in the /tmp area
during the installation. Once the installation completes it is deleted.
/opt/steam (or install dir)
The install dir /opt/steam uses approximately 32 mb of space in the /opt area.
This is permanent space that should not grow more than 3–5 mb during the life of
the product.
