Setting the Port Topology:
HSG80 > SET OTHER_CONTROLLER PORT_1_TOPOLOGY=FABRIC
HSG80 > SET OTHER_CONTROLLER PORT_2_TOPOLOGY=FABRIC
Setting the SCSI Version:
HSG80 > SET THIS_CONTROLLER SCSI_VERSION=SCSI-2
HSG80 > SET THIS_CONTROLLER SCSI_VERSION=SCSI-2
If the StorageWorks Command Console (SWCC) will be used, the HSG80 Command
Console LUN must be enabled.
HSG80> SET THIS_CONTROLLER COMMAND_CONSOLE_LUN
1. After all of the settings have been made, restart both controllers by entering the
following command:
HSG80> RESTART OTHER_CONTROLLER
HSG80> RESTART THIS_CONTROLLER
2. Set the connection type by first examining the connections by entering the following
command:
HSG80> SHOW CONNECTIONS
3. In the following command substitute [CONNECTIONNAME] withthenamesshowninthe
output of the
SHOW CONNECTIONS command. Set the connections to SGI by typing:
HSG80> SET [CONNECTIONNAME] OPERATING __SYSTEM =SGI
4. Repeat Step 3 for each connection shown after entering the command in Step 2.
Host System Setup
Once the RAID Array has been configured, the Host System must be set up.
1. Shut down the host operating system, using your site-specific procedures. Once the
operating system has halted, power off the SGI system enclosure.
2. If necessary, install the SGI Fibre Channel host adapter, and the optical to electrical
Media Interface Adapter (MIA), using specific SGI FC-AL adapters only. The MIA
should be secured to the host adapter with its two attached fastening screws. The MIA
is available from SGI using the part number X-F-OE-KIT
3. Connect the optical cables from the RAID Controller to the hub or switch. Then,
connect the Fibre Channel Host adapter in the SGI enclosure to the hub or switch with
an optical cable.
