HSG80 ACS Solution Software V8.6 for Windows NT and Windows 2000 Installation and Configuration Guide

3–20 HSG80 ACS Solution Software Version 8.6 for Windows NT and Windows 2000 Installation and
Configuration Guide
Windows NT or Windows 2000 assigns disk names based on the order in which the system
drivers find disks during Windows NT and Windows 2000 boot. The Windows NT host
system uses a special disk class driver (HszDisk.SYS) that connects to all HSG80 disks
before any other disks present in the system are connected. Therefore, the first entries in
the Disk Administrator display should represent all your subsystem logical volumes.
Verifying your Configuration
To verify your configuration in Windows 2000 check in the Windows Event Viewer
that the Hsz/HsxDisk successfully loaded.
To verify your configuration with the Disk Management program perform the
following actions:
Verify that there is an entry in the Disk Management display for each of your
subsystem volumes. If there is not, you should go back and recheck your
configuration.
Verify that the capacity shown matches the size of the physical disk or subsystem.
If it does not match, recheck the logical configuration for the Enterprise Storage
RAID Array Fibre Channel system and its members.
NOTE: Disk Administrator and Disk Management displays the “usable” capacity of a RAIDset
and MIRRORset, not the combined total of the physical members.
