3Unplugthecables
Label the cables or write a note that shows the locations of all the cables
plugged into the interface controller to make it e asier to reconnect them
later. Unplug all cables from the interface controller by pressing on the
connector tabs and removing the cables.
4Removethei
nterface controller
Use a #1 Phill
ips screwdriver to loosen the captive screws in the ejector
handle at bo
th ends of the i nterface controller. Push the ejector hand les
to the outsi
de and then p ull on them to remove the interface controller
from the lib
rary.
5 Insert the new interface controller
Orient the new interface controller as shown and align it with th e
guides i
n the slot. Slide the interface controller into the library. Push
the ejector handles to the inside to fully engage the board into the
backplane. Use a #1 Phillips screwdriver to tighten the captive screw in
both ejector handles.
6 Connect the cables
Plug the cables into the interface controller exactly as they were plugged
into the original interface controller (see the labels on the cables or
thenotethatyouwrote).
7Turnonthepower
a. Set the library power switch at the upper right corner to the ON
position.
b. Observe that all power indicators on the power supplies show that
power is restored.
c. Wait 10 minutes.
d. Verify that the library robotics controller card ACTIVE indicator is lit.
8 Prepare for configuration
When you replace an interface controller, you must use a different
power-on procedure the firsttime. ResettheinterfacecontrollerTWICE
to prepare it for configuration.
a. Insert a paper clip into the Reset hole.
b. Wait three m inutes for the interface controller to reset.
c. Reset the interface controller again and wait another three minutes.
IMPORT
ANT:
If you do not allow enough time for the interface controller to
reset before resetting it again, the Interface Manager card will
not recognize the interface controller.
