3. Connect the FC cables to a switch or an HBA.
NOTE:
You can connect directly to an HBA or to a switch. The default is to connect to a switch. For

Connecting FC cables for LTO4 and LTO5 tape drives
To connect LTO4 and LTO5 tape drives to the SAN or host, connect FC cables (not provided) from
the tape drives through an access hole in the library cabinet, and to an FC switch or Host Bus Adapter
(HBA).
1. Attach an FC cable to port A on each tape drive.
2. Route the cables through access holes on the top or bottom of the library cabinet.
If routing through the top of the cabinet, use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the plate covering
the top access hole. If routing through the bottom of the library cabinet, route the cable(s) down
the left side of the library next to the power cables.
3. Connect the FC cables to a switch or an HBA.

Connecting the cabinet controller LAN cable
1. Route your LAN Ethernet cable up through the bottom of the library cabinet through the cable
access hole on the right side as you face the back of the library.
