Disconnect the Fibre Channel (FC ) cable from the drive to be replaced
by 1) pressing down on the cable connector tab and 2) pulling the
connector away from the drive. Disconnect the other end of the FC
cable from the interface controller card.

Using a slotted screwdriver, 1) loosen the captive screw at the upper
left corner of the drive module. 2) Grasp the drive handle and pull
the drive from its bay.
NOTE:
Leave the interface controller card in the library to maintain
proper airow .

1) Insert the new drive into the vacant drive bay, then 2) tighten the
captivescrewtosecurethedrivetothecluster.

1) Connect the FC cable you removed from the old tape drive to port A
onthenewdrive. TheFCcableconnectorclicksintoplace. Connect
the other end of the FC cable to its corresp on ding port on the SAN.
Attach a label to each end of the cable to mark th e port designations.
2) Inser t the Ethernet c able included with the tape drive into the MGMT
port on the new drive. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to
the internal network switch installed in the library. Do not connect the
MGMT port or internal network switch to the public or site LAN.
CAUTION:
To avoid damaging FC cables, do not bend them sharply or pinch
them. Allow a radial bend when reattaching the FC cables.
6.8 Power on the new tape drive
Insert new LTO4 media if desired.
Power on the library if necessary.
If the tape drive did not power itself on, use the front panel to power on
the drive now.
a. From Menu,selecttheOps button.
b. Use the Up and Down buttons to select the drive, then press the
Select button.
c. Use the Up and Down buttons to change the drive to on-line, then
press the Select button.
d. Select the Back button to return to Menu.
