Installation

Caution: Parts can be damaged by

electrostatic discharge. Keep parts in their

containers until needed. Ensure you are

properly grounded when touching static-

sensitive components.

Inspect the contents of the kit.

Note: These parts are not hot-swappable.

It is necessary to power down the library

to replace these parts.

Open the back door of the library.

Power off the library.

a. Use your backup software to verify that

the picker is empty, or to empty the picker.

b. Press the power button located on the

front of the library behind the laptop tray

and wait until the OCP goes blank.

Flip the two breaker switches off (to the left) at the

power distribution unit.

Power on the library.

a. Verify that power cables are firmly in place.

b. Press the power button located behind the

laptop tray.

c. After several minutes, verify that the current

state of the library appears in the System

State display on the OCP (System On-line

or System Off-line).

Close the back door of the library.

Check the OCP to verify that the removable load

port magazines are recognized. On the OCP

system state display, the ports screen, and the

setup menu, the number of ports will be reduced

by 2 on the left side and 4 on the right side.

5 6 11 Use the load port release on the back of the main panel to expose the rails of the panel to be replaced. From the front side of the panel, align the holes in the panel and rail for the screws. Secure the load port panels to the rails using 4 screws per panel. From the front of the panel, remove the screw(s) that secure the red plate to the panel.
