IMPORTANT NOTES AND WORKAROUNDS: The following sections list important notes and workaround solutions. Windows IP connection Important note—Windows dropping the IP connection Certain I/O workloads can result in LUN removal because the Windows operating system has dropped the IP connection Workaround The connection can be restored by rebooting the system.
HP StorageWorks High Availability Fabric Manager Important note—HP StorageWorks High Availability Fabric Manager (HAFM) for M-Series Fibre Channel switches does not recognize the mpx100. The M-Series Zoning Manager does not recognize the WWPNs of the mpx100 as Fibre Channel HBAs. Instead, the M-Series Zoning Manager sees the WWPNs as switches so they do not appear as devices to zone. Workaround An alternative M-Series application must be used to configure zones that include the mpx100 WWPNs.
Workaround Follow the correct iqn name syntax as described in section 3.2.6 of RFC 3720 For Windows—In the initiator GUI, click Reset under Change in the General tab to reset the iqn name to its original name that was created when you installed the initiator. For Linux—edit the InitiatorName setting in the /etc/initiatorname.iscsi file using the correct syntax. For Linux and Windows—reinstalling the initiator creates a valid iqn name.
• Enter a portion of the data between page refreshes and click Save to store the information. Enter the rest of the data and enter Save. • Change the refresh interval for the entire GUI to a larger value in Agent Options > User Interface. The default value for the content pane is 60 seconds. Important note—the iSCSI host entry in Command View EVA must be refreshed with new WWPNs after a mpx100 FRU replacement.
Rebooting new mpx100 firmware Important note–reboot of the mpx100 to activate a new version of firmware can result in a lost connection between a single-path iSCSI initiator and the mpx100 iSCSI port. Although the average mpx100 reboot time is under 50 seconds, the reboot can result in a lost connection between a single-path iSCSI initiator and the mpx100 iSCSI port.
Workaround To clear the led, turn the mpx100 beacon light off with either the mpx100 Manager or the following CLI command: beacon off TITLE: EVA iSCSI Connectivity Option release notes 9
