5. Click Switch Set tings and enter the following information.
a. Enter the IP Address of the p rimary switch for the SAN for which you want a report. Information
will be collected for all devices connected to this switch.
b. Clea r Discover cascaded switches. This option automatically detects all switches connected to
the switch identified by the IP address. Including all the cascaded switches incre ases the data
collected for the report to include all the devices connected to all the switches. If you want to
include all the switches, leave this option selected.
c. Enter the switch login a nd password if required. The Read Community value is obtained from
the switch.
d. Ifyouhavecreatedmorethanonefabric,usetheSelect Switc h Group drop-down list to select
the fabric to which you want to add this switch.
e. Click Add to add the switch to the reporting confi guration.
Creating a report
Once you have configuredSANVisibilityfordatacollection,youcancreateareport. Therearetwo
methods for creating a report:
• Auto
matically—Automatically e-mails the data to HP when collection is complete. This requires
you to know the SMTP address of your mail ser ver. If you have externa l e-mail access from
your environment, this is the preferred method.
• Man
ually—RequiresyoutomanuallysendthedatatoHP.Ifyoudonothaveexternale-mail
access, use this method.
