CAUTION:

Before upgrading the controller ﬁrmware, ensure that the storage system conﬁguration is stable and is

not being changed in any way. If any conﬁgurations changes are in progress, monitor them using HP

Command View EVA and wait until they are completed before proceeding with the upgrade.

Upgrading controller ﬁrmware

IMPORTANT :

If upgrading from XCS 5.1x0 to 6.200, all source and destination DR groups must be in synchronous

mode before upgrading. Check each DR group to verify this setti ng before proceeding.

To upgrade the controller ﬁrmware:

1. Open HP Command View EVA in your browser.

2. In the Navigation pane, select the storage system you want to upgrade.

The pro perties window for the selected storage system opens.

3. Click Code load.

4. To downloa d XCS 6.2 controller software from the web, go to the following website:

ttp://h20293.www2.h p.com.

5. Select Storage and NAS under Product category, and then select HP EVA XCS 6.200 Electronic

Download.

You will receive two .ISO ima ges from which you ca n create CDs.

6. After cr eating a CD of the installation .ISO image, click Browse and select the ﬁle containing

version XCS 6.200 of the storage system software from the installation CD:

• EVA8000/8100 – Select either the \HSV210\6200\HSV210_6200.SSS or

\HSV210\LATEST\HSV210_6200.SSS ﬁle (the ﬁles a re identical).

• EVA4000/4100 or EVA 6000/6100 – Select either the

\HSV200\6200\HSV200_6200.SSS or \HSV200\LATEST\HSV200_6200.SSS ﬁle

(the ﬁles are identical).

7. Click Next Step.
