HP Fabric OS 6.2.2f Release Notes (5697-1756, February 2012)

Firmware upgrade instructions
IMPORTANT: HP recommends that users upgrade to Fabric OS 6.2.2f as soon as possible.
Upgrading to Fabric OS 6.2.2f is allowed only from Fabric OS 6.1.x. For guidelines, see (page 6).
NOTE: With the introduction of Fabric OS 6.1.1, certain features and functions were removed
from Web Tools (resident in the firmware) and migrated to the Data Center Fabric Manager (DCFM)
management application. This has been carried forward to Fabric OS 6.2.x. If you are not running
DCFM on your fabric, HP recommends that before upgrading to Fabric OS 6.2.x or later, you
review (page 31) and note what has changed in order to assess the impact to your fabric.
To access the latest Fabric OS 6.2.2f firmware, configuration files, and MIB files, see the HP

Other important notes and recommendations
This section contains additional information that you should consider before you use this Fabric
OS release.
Virtual Fabrics
On VF-capable platforms, the VF feature must be enabled after upgrading to Fabric OS 6.2.x
in order to utilize the related capabilities, including Logical Switches and Logical Fabrics.
When creating Logical Fabrics that include switches that are not VF-capable, it is possible to
have two Logical Switches with different FIDs in the same fabric. Be sure to verify that the FIDs
match for all switches in the same Logical Fabric.
The aptpolicy can be configured per logical switch. The Administrator Guide indicates it is a
chassis-level setting.
