Important information
This section contains important notes and workarounds for installation and use.
Direct connect for EVA8400/6400
In a direct connect configuration (no Fibre Channel switch), if an EVA controller host port Fibre Channel
cable is disconnected, a connection failure occurs, or an mpx100 power cycle/reboot occurs, the
host port connection may fail to re-establish.
Workaround
For the failed host port connection, change the host port topology setting from Direct to Fabric, and
then back to Direct. See the EVA storage system user documentation for the procedure to change the
host port setting.
Using MPIO with Windows 2003
For Windows 2003 with raw disk device access, when using Microsoft Initiator version 2.07, MPIO
load balance policy must be set to Failover Only. For file system disk access or when using Microsoft
Initiator version 2.08, all MPIO load balance policies are supported.
