System Configuration Menu (config/sys)
The System Configuration menu provides commands to configure the switch settings.
Setting the System Time (config/sys/time)
This command sets the switch’s current date and time. The default setting is 00/01/1970 00:00:00.
NOTE: The date and time settings must be configured any time the switch loses power or is reset, as the
time settings are not retained.
To change the date and time:
1. From the System Configuration menu (config/sys), type time and press E
NTER.
The current time and date are displayed in brackets before the command prompt.
2. Type the new date and time and press E
NTER. The valid date and time formats are listed in
the table below.
To view the current system time:
From the Root menu (root), type show sysinfo and press E
NTER.
Setting the Switch Name (config/sys/name)
This command sets the switch name. The name is limited to 80 characters and quotation marks must
wrap the entire name if the name contains a space. For example, “Storage Switch #3”.
To change the switch name:
1. From the System Configuration menu (config/sys), type name and press E
NTER.
The current name is displayed in brackets before the command prompt.

11. cfgdump Displays switch configuration settings. See page 17.
12. cfgload Installs a custom switch configuration. See page 18.

Valid Date and Time Format Description
MM/DD/YYYY HR:MN:SC month/day/year hours:minutes:seconds
MM/DD/YYYY HR:MN month/day/year hours:minutes (default seconds = 0)
MM/DD HR:MN:SC month/day hours:minutes:seconds (default year)
MM/DD HR:MN month/day hours:minutes (default year, default seconds = 0)
HR:MN:SC hours:minutes:seconds (default date)
HR:MN hours:minutes (default date, default seconds = 0)
