Port Configuration Menu (config/port)
The Port Configuration menu provides commands to configure the port settings.
Beaconing Ports (config/port/beacon)
This command flashes (beacons) a port’s LEDs to indicate the port needs attention. This feature is
typically used when troubleshooting port problems.
To view the current port beaconing settings:
From the Port Configuration menu (config/port), type beacon and press E
NTER.
To beacon a port:
From the Port Configuration menu (config/port), type beacon <port number> 1 and press E
NTER.
To stop beaconing a port:
From the Port Configuration menu (config/port), type beacon <port number> 2 and press E
NTER.
Enabling or Disabling Ports
This command enables or disables the specified port. The default setting is “1”, or enabled, for all
ports.
To enable a port:
From the Port Configuration menu (config/port), type enable <port number> 1 and press E
NTER.
To disable a port:
From the Port Configuration menu (config/port), type enable <port number> 2 and press E
NTER.
Setting the Port Speed (config/port/speed)
This command sets the speed of the specified port. The default setting is “2” or 2.125Gb/s.
To change a port’s speed:
1. From the Port Configuration menu (config/port), type speed and press E
NTER.
2. Enter the port number at the prompt and press E
NTER.
3. Enter the new speed and press E
NTER.
To view the current speed and port configuration for every port:
From the Root menu (root), type show speeds and press E
NTER.
Port Reset (config/port/lip)
This command resets a specified port by sending a Loop Initialization Primitive (LIP). This process
temporarily places a port into bypassed mode and then performs a reset to re-insert the port. This
feature may be used to diagnose device problems when a device is locked up or experiencing a high
number of failures on a port.

Speed Description
1 Set the port speed to 1.0625 Gb/s.
2 Set the port speed to 2.125 Gb/s.
4 Set the port speed to 4.25 Gb/s (not supported)
auto Automatically negotiates the speed of the connected device.
