20 Configuration Menu (CONFIG)
To reset a port:
From the Port Configuration menu (config/port), type lip <port number> and press E
NTER.
Network Configuration Menu (config/network)
The Network Configuration menu displays the current network settings and provides commands for
configuring the switch’s network settings.
Displaying Network Settings (config/network/show)
This command displays the current and saved network settings for the switch, including the IP
address, gateway, and netmask. The Current settings are the settings used by the switch at this time.
The New settings are the settings that will be used by the switch the next time it is reset.
To view the network settings:
From the Network Configuration menu (config/network), type show and press E
NTER.
The default network settings are:
DHCP: disabled
IP Address: 192.168.0.10
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Configuring the DHCP Setting (config/network/dhcp)
For Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)-enabled environments, you can enable the switch
to acquire an IP address from a DHCP server automatically. This feature is disabled by default.
To enable DHCP IP address assignment:
1. From the Network Configuration menu (config/network), type dhcp and press E
NTER.
2. Type 1 to enable DHCP and press E
NTER.
NOTE: Once DHCP is enabled, the switch will automatically obtain an IP address from the DHCP server.
You will need to know this IP address in order to access the switch through a Telnet session. There are
several ways to locate the new IP address, including attaching a serial cable and using a serial terminal
emulation program or contacting your network administrator.
3. Type root reset and press ENTER.
4. Type y and press E
NTER to reset the switch.
To disable DHCP IP address assignment:
1. From the Network Configuration menu (config/network), type dhcp and press E
NTER.
2. Type 2 to disable DHCP and press E
NTER.
