HP MSA VDS hardware provider
The HP MSA VDS hardware provider consists of special HP DLLs and executables tha t install on the
Windows server
. These components extend the capability of Windows and Windows applications to
communicate with and manage the disk a rray. The a dvantage of VDS and the HP MSA VDS hardware
provider is that they enable you to manage multiple array models from a single interface. Using Windows
applications you can manage array ports, discover and manage LUNs, format, partition, and mount
volumes, and create and manage file systems and files.
HP disk array
Specific HP VDS hardware pr oviders work with specific HP disk arrays. Different supporting technologies
and features within the arrays cause some differences in their capabilities. The hardware provider
for the MSA disk arrays h as been designed specially for those arrays, including Active-Passive and
Active-Active i nstallations.
