Installation procedures

The following procedures describe how to install the Hardware Providers on a Windows 2003 server.

If you have not already conﬁgured the server and the array as instructed in “C hapter 2 Conﬁguration,”

do so now before you install the HP Provider software. The HP Provider will not work if t he array and

server have not been correctly conﬁgured before you install the Provider.

Installation summary

You will perform the following tasks on the Windows server during installation:

• Remove the previous version of the Provider, if necessary.

• Run the Provider installation executable: setu p.exe.

• Follow the InstallShield Wizard instructions to install the software.

• Install Microsoft QFEs (quick ﬁxes), if any. See the Provider READMEﬁle for details.

• Verify installation using Windows Disk Management and the DISKRAI D List Provider command.

installation at any point during this procedure, click Cancel:

The Preparing to Install window appears, followed by the install Welcome screen.
